Something is missing
A piece of information in the payment is incomplete or does not match the account details. The system waits for it to be filled in.
The purpose of the payment is asked
On certain payments a short description of the reason lets the process carry on without another stop.
The recipient is new
A payment to someone not paid before gets an extra look. Once the first one is confirmed, future ones are faster.
Notify, reply, done
When a payment is paused, a message arrives in the app and by email. Answer the question, and the payment continues automatically. If it cannot proceed, the money returns to the account from which it came.
